What it is
SAGE builds the record and SENTINEL keeps it building while you're living your life. Whatever came in since the last session gets swept into the same chronology, labelled the same way, and folded into the pattern view, so the record is current before you've had to think about it.
It matters most after a final order, when the case is over but the co-parenting runs until the youngest turns eighteen. One missed exchange in March means nothing on its own, and it's gone entirely if it only lives in your memory, so what helps is small and repeatable, which paragraph got broken, on what date, and what you have that shows it.
